We are celebrating the 21st Anniversary of Trade & Forfaiting Review and to mark this, we will present 21 Awards for Excellence in Trade, alongside our TFR Fellowship Award for individual contribution to the trade finance industry. Thank you for making your nominations. The list of nominees has been prepared from your choices and from our editorial board’s recommendations. See the full list below.

This is now a call for you to vote. Voting will close on 5 June.

The Categories

The Best Trade Bank explains itself. We then look at certain sectors and regions. Official institutions are split roughly into two categories which are not easily defined. We have chosen Export Credit Agencies and International Financial Institutions and are aware that there are big differences between and among these. We have left it to our readers to speak as they will.

The next category group is the service provider awards. Companies trade and banks have money but could not do so without the ancillary – necessary – services which fintech, technology, brokers, underwriters and lawyers provide. There is one additional category that is in time honoured tradition, the TFR Fellowship Award, which will go to the individual we feel has contributed most to trade finance. The winner of this will be chosen by the editorial team.

Rules of engagement

  • Nominations are now closed.
  • We have created a list of nominees and are asking you to vote. Voting will close on 5 June.
  • One vote per category will be counted, but you do not have to vote in every category. We rely on the honour of practitioners for nominees not to vote for themselves.
  • You must enter your details for your vote(s) to be counted, you do have to complete the form and click submit at the end.
  • The final placement of the awards will be determined by votes (60%) and the views of the editorial team (editor in chief and editor) and the editorial board without conflicts of interest in the categories (40%). The editor in chief’s decision is final.
  • Winners will be profiled in the July/August double edition of TFR.
  • The TFR Excellence in Trade Awards do not represent the views or opinions of Ark Group or Wilmington Plc

We look forward to your votes. We will let you know where the awards will be presented shortly.
