ING has selected Clarence Plummer to head up Europe syndicated finance in London.

Most recently, Plummer was manging director, regional head of ING’s Americas syndicated finance group.

He brings with him 24 years of experience in syndicated finance, having originally established the loan syndication group for ING Capital in the early 1990s before moving to Merrill Lynch (and returning to ING in 2003).

Ed Brown, global head of syndicated finance, said, “Clarence has done an excellent job in building ING’s syndicated finance business in the Americas and his experience gained in the US will bring a fresh perspective to our European business.”

The move is one of several, including the relocation of Ed Brown to New York and of Eva Smolen to Frankfurt as head of corporate and financial institutions lending (CFIL) Germany and Austria.

Previously, Smolen was ING’s leveraged managing director.
