Deutsche bring in Thomas Nielsen as chief digital officer

Deutsche Bank has appointed Thomas Nielsen as chief digital officer for global transaction banking.

With 25 years of experience in the fields of technology, operations and digital transformation, Nielsen will lead the bank’s global transaction banking digitalisation strategy.

He moves from Tesco, where he managed the company’s digital portfolio of platforms, websites, and apps, as well as its overall digital transformation agenda and digital marketing activities.

Deutsche Bank’s John Gibbons, head of global transaction banking, said, “Data and technology are key to innovation, in particular for financial services. The consumer sector has been driving this for many years.

“Thomas Nielsen's experience in developing and rolling out digital solutions in the consumer space will be vitally important as we seek to accelerate the delivery of digital products and services for our global corporate and institutional clients.”
