Coface appoints John Nicholas as new risk underwriting director

John Nicholas has been appointed as risk underwriting director by Coface in the UK and Ireland.

He will lead a “multi-sector knowledge based underwriting team” that comprises of 340 underwriters in 44 international centres.

Nicholas has over 30 years’ experience of credit risk management, 12 years of which was garnered as a credit risk director with Stemcor, an international steel trading group.

He spent another substantial part of his career with Euler Hermers, which he joined as a senior risk analyst in 1996, rising to regional risk manager before departing in 2004 after eight years.

Coface in the UK and Ireland’s current risk underwriting director, Grant Williams, has been promoted to the role of political risk director.
